Naomi Williams Emetoh your Psychologist/Counsellor : After my studies of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Lagos, had the opportunity of working with women in difficulty. As a result of my contact with less-privileged widows in my community, I developed passion of coming to the aide of women going through diverse problems & challenges. After working in the finance and business sector for several years I was inspired to initiate the programme of an NGO that championed the cause of women in difficulty in Paris France. As the Founder, Coordinator of programmes and Counsellor for over seven years, I made positive impact in the lives of women that came to the NGO for support/counsel.
For almost five years now I have been working with people living with emotional and mental health problems. My contact with them inspired me further to go in for training at Metanoia Institute London to acquire more knowledge and skills in counselling studies, to enable me make greater impact in the lives of people having emotional, and mental health related problems. To further develop my career, I studied Master of Science in Psychology, at the University of South Wales United Kingdom. My dissertation research explored the effectiveness of trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy in helping to improve mental health and wellbeing of divorced women.
During my training course, I was able to discover more about myself through personal therapy which enabled me to find a solution to a long-standing problem that I could not identify ordinarily. Eventually this brought about a positive change in my life, resulting in self-fulfilment. From my personal experience of psychotherapy, I believe everyone needs therapy in one way or the other. * I recommend that you give psychotherapy a trial, it will help you to discover yourself and find lasting solutions to your problems and challenges with improved mental health.
